Weather Update from Dickinson ISD

All Dickinson ISD campuses have electrical power except K.E. Little Elementary.  Two power poles are snapped in the Bacliff area, and we do not know when power will be restored.  KELE parents have been notified and requested to pick up their children.  All other DISD campuses are proceeding with the school day.

The storm did cause major damage to the awning at McAdams Junior High.  An alternative plan for bus drop off and pick up is in place, and the damaged awning will be immediately addressed.  In addition, a dugout at the softball field partially collapsed, and softball games will be moved to another location.  Elementary principals are proceeding with the 3rd grade STAAR, and it will be rescheduled for 3rd graders at K. E. Little Elementary as soon as power is restored and students can return to campus.
