Senate Bill 13 Compliance

In compliance with Texas Senate Bill 13, our district is committed to transparency in library materials and strengthening the parent and school partnership. As the first and most important educators in their children’s lives, parents will have access to view library materials, participate in advisory committees, and provide input on book selections. Together, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and academically aligned library experience for all students.

This is the designated location for accessing the Parent Portal, where you can review the library catalog and select which materials your child is allowed to check out. As part of our commitment to supporting the parent and school partnership, this tool empowers you to make informed decisions aligned with your family’s values and educational goals.

Parent Access

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has provided a Library Materials Challenge Form to all school districts across the state as part of the requirements under Senate Bill 13.

As required by Senate Bill 13, all proposed library book lists must be posted on the district website for a minimum of 30 days before being reviewed or approved. This ensures transparency and gives parents the opportunity to stay informed and involved in their child's access to library materials.

2025 - 2026 Fall Book List Posting

2025 - 2026 Spring Book List Posting

In accordance with Senate Bill 13 (SB 13), the district is required to establish a School Library Advisory Committee (SLAC) to support transparency and ensure community input in library material selection. This committee plays a vital role in strengthening the parent and school partnership and ensuring our libraries reflect shared community values. If you are interested in serving on the committee, please fill out this application. (Application Coming Soon)
