Bus Drivers Wanted

Dickinson ISD is a growing suburban school district located in northern Galveston County, situated halfway between Houston and Galveston on I-45. Covering over 68 square miles, its boundaries encompass the entire communities of Dickinson, Bacliff, San Leon and parts of League City and Texas City.

Transportation is available to all students that reside within the boundaries of the District. There are over 12,000 students in Dickinson ISD, of which about half utilize the District’s transportation. A fleet of 150 buses is used to serve 12 inter-district campuses and 5 out-of district campuses.

The department provides fuel and maintenance for the district’s fleet of 150 vehicles representing the following departments: Operations, Child Nutrition, Technology, and Transportation.

The Board of Trustees approved changes for student bus transportation by naming some areas near campus as walk zones. Starting in August 2024, bus service will no longer be available for specific areas near seven campuses. Parents must find alternate transportation for the student, such as car rider, walker or bike rider. Please note that these transportation changes do not apply to students in special education who receive specialized transportation services. Click the maps below to open a larger map.
