Dr. Rebecca Brown is a dedicated educator and leader with over 29 years of experience in public education, serving in key leadership roles across multiple Houston-area school districts.
Dr. Brown began her career in Aldine ISD, where she spent a decade as a Reading Language Arts (RLA) teacher and later advanced to serve as a Reading Specialist. She then transitioned into leadership roles, serving as a principal at both the middle school and high school levels, where she implemented literacy programs that improved student outcomes and fostered campus cultures of academic excellence. In Houston ISD, she oversaw campuses as a Chief of Schools and School Support Officer, leading efforts to close achievement gaps, improve school performance ratings, and elevate instructional leadership.
In Spring Branch ISD, she led the development of innovative instructional strategies and aligned curriculum to meet the needs of a diverse student population. As Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Spring ISD, she implemented data-driven instructional strategies that enhanced teacher effectiveness and boosted student performance. In La Porte ISD, as Deputy Superintendent, she expanded STEM programs, launched a district literacy initiative, and improved college and career readiness metrics, resulting in significant student achievement gains.
Dr. Brown and her husband, Ron, are dedicated to education and proud to be part of the Dickinson ISD community. Their son, RJ, is a high school student at Dickinson High School. The family also includes two rescue Siberian huskies, Duke and Storm.
