Dickinson ISD Eclipse Event for Students - April 8, 2024

Solar Eclipse on April 8, 2024!

As we gear up for the awe-inspiring solar eclipse on April 8th, we're committed to ensuring our students experience this celestial event safely. That's why we're rolling out a series of Solar Eclipse Safety Presentations during the week of April 1-5. It's a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn about the importance of eye protection during the eclipse and how to use solar viewing glasses correctly.

Get Ready for Safe Eclipse Viewing! We're going above and beyond to equip our campuses with special glasses and viewers, aiming for every two students to share a pair. This initiative guarantees that everyone can enjoy the eclipse without risking eye damage.

Mark Your Calendars! This educational journey is something we're thrilled to offer our students. Not only will they gain valuable knowledge about eye safety, but they'll also participate in fun activities designed to enhance their eclipse viewing experience.

Stay Tuned to your child's campus for opt in, opt out, or special instructions and permission regarding the eclipse! We're working closely with campuses to ensure the smooth distribution of viewing glasses and other resources. More exciting details will be shared soon. Let's make this solar eclipse a safe and memorable event for our entire school community!
