Dickinson ISD will host its “Battle of the Swamp” robotics competition for middle school and junior high students on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Dickinson Junior High School. The event will take place from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and will feature student teams showcasing their skills in design, programming, and teamwork through competitive matches.

Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. for check-in, with middle school matches beginning at 8:30 a.m. and junior high matches starting at 9:00 a.m. The event will be held at Dickinson Junior High School, located at 11611 Central Park Road in Texas City.

The competition is part of Dickinson ISD’s Career and Technical Education program and provides students with hands-on experience in engineering and robotics while encouraging collaboration and problem-solving. Community members are invited to attend and support the district’s student participants.

Concessions will be available for purchase, and cash will be accepted.
