
Dickinson High School’s Automotive Technology program delivered an impressive performance at the Houston Auto Dealers Association’s annual Auto Tech Competition, one of the most competitive high-school technician events in the Houston region.
DHS entered two teams of three students, each completing a six-week internship with their sponsoring dealership to prepare for the event.
Team Lexus of Clear Lake
Joe Silva – David Villalobos – Bryan Ceron
This team trained daily at Lexus of Clear Lake and achieved an exceptional result, placing fourth overall out of 23 participating schools and dealerships.
A special recognition goes to Joe Silva, who distinguished himself as the top individual competitor at the entire event. Joe earned:
-Top overall individual score out of more than 70 competitors
-Highest score in CCAR Safety
-Highest score on the ASE test portion
His outstanding performance set the standard for the competition.
Team McRee Ford
Edgar Perez Duran – Genesis Urbina – Johnny Cooley
The McRee Ford team demonstrated strong technical skill, professionalism, and determination. Their effort earned them a tenth-place overall finish in a very competitive field.
A Strong Showing for Dickinson ISD
Both Dickinson High School teams placed in the Top 10 in the Houston area, a testament to the dedication, preparation, and talent of each student competitor. The district is extremely proud of the way these students represented DHS and the Automotive Technology program.
