Few matchups capture the energy of Friday night lights quite like Dickinson Gators Football vs. Clear Springs. This Friday, the tradition continues at Sam Vitanza Stadium, a rivalry featured in the Great American Rivalry Series, one of the most recognized honors in high school football.

Founded in 2004, the Great American Rivalry Series shines a national spotlight on the most historic and competitive rivalries across the United States. Each season, the organization highlights select matchups that embody community pride, passion, and tradition while honoring the players, coaches, and fans who make these rivalries truly great.

Dickinson was featured in the Series during the 2023 season when the Gators defeated Clear Springs 35–14 on September 22, 2023, at Challenger Columbia Stadium. We are proud once again to be part of this nationally recognized rivalry.

Over the years, this matchup has delivered unforgettable moments. Since 2015, the two sides have traded huge back-and-forth wins and losses, showcasing just how competitive and unpredictable this rivalry has been. The record graphic below highlights the results of every meeting in recent years.

Friday’s game will also feature special moments of pride across Gator Nation. This year’s Hall of Honor Class will be recognized on the field, celebrating the lasting impact of outstanding Gator alumni who have helped shape Dickinson ISD’s proud legacy.

In addition, it’s Junior High Night, as students from Kranz, McAdams, and Dickinson Junior High come together to experience Friday night lights, Gator-style. Band, choir, cheer, football, and dance team members from all three campuses will take part in the evening’s festivities, representing the future of Gator pride.

This Friday, expect an electric atmosphere, special pre-game recognition, and a post-game trophy presentation to crown the winner of this year’s Great American Rivalry showdown.
