American Legion Post 291 and Hillman Family Donate Over $25,900 to Support Dickinson ISD Programs
12/13/2024

The Dickinson ISD Education Foundation is overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible generosity of the American Legion Post #291, San Leon, Texas and Clifford and Darla Hillman, who recently donated more than $25,900 to support Dickinson ISD programs! All of these donated funds were generously raised through the group's annual Veteran's Day Celebration, a testament to their dedication to honoring veterans and supporting our community. Here’s how these funds will make a difference:

?? $750 to the DHS Marching Band
??? $1,000 to the DHS JROTC
??? $4,000 to support district Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs
?? $20,156 added to the Ronald Hillman Fund as part of our endowment, ensuring future student support

Mr. Hillman and members of the American Legion, joined by DISD superintendent Dr. Rebecca, Brown, members of the DISD board of trustees, DHS, CTE, Fine Arts, and JROTC leadership, DISD Education Foundation board of directors and staff, were treated to a tour of the CTE wing at Dickinson High School, where upper-level welding students were hard at work on their projects. It was an inspiring opportunity to showcase the incredible talent and dedication of our students, made possible through the continued support of our community partners.

The Hillman family and the American Legion have been steadfast supporters of Dickinson ISD, carrying on a legacy of giving through the Ronald Hillman Fund. This fund was established to honor Clifford Hillman’s brother, Ronald, who made the ultimate sacrifice during the Vietnam War.

Thank you, American Legion Post 291, Clifford, and Darla, for your unwavering dedication to our students and their success. Together, we’re building a brighter future for #GatorNation!
