Dickinson ISD’s 2023-2024 Secondary Teacher of the Year Zach Rivas has been selected as a finalist for the Region 4 Secondary Teacher of the Year honor. Rivas was celebrated this past May at the district’s annual Blue and White Employee Recognition Awards Night for the district honor. He has four years of education experience, all in Dickinson ISD, and is a ninth-grade biology teacher at Dickinson High School.

The overall Region 4 honoree will be recognized on August 1 at the Region 4 Teacher of the Year Luncheon. The regional honoree will advance to the Texas Teachers of the Year program, which is a statewide effort of the Texas Association of School Administrators and the other 19 education service centers from across Texas.
