Two of Dickinson ISD's outstanding teachers were surprised this past week at the district's annual Blue & White Employee Recognition Banquet as the 2024-2025 District Teachers of the Year. Yadira Sesher was named the Elementary Teacher of the Year, while Ashley Anderson earned the Secondary Teacher of the Year honor. 

Yadira Sesher has been teaching for 12 years, all in Dickinson ISD. She is a Third Grade Dual Language Teacher at Calder Road Elementary. The school says, “Yadi consistently goes above and beyond, ensuring that every lesson is meaningful, rigorous, and purposeful. Her students don’t just feel supported—they feel truly loved, and that is evident in the way they thrive under her guidance. Yadi’s kindness, positivity, and uplifting spirit make her a joy to work with, and she is always willing to lend a hand to support her team.”

Ashley Anderson has nine years of education experience, including six years in Dickinson ISD. She is an English teacher at the Dickinson Continuation Center. The school says, “Ashley is an exceptional teacher. Her patience, positive attitude, and deep knowledge inspire both students and colleagues. She tirelessly works to ensure her students succeed, and her support has been invaluable in improving her colleagues' teaching. She is a valuable asset to DCC, and her positive impact on our campus is undeniable.”

These two teachers will represent Dickinson ISD as they move into the Region 4 Teacher of the Year Recognition Program, where two overall winners from the Region 4 area are announced at a special recognition luncheon in August. 

A special thank you to AMOCO Federal Credit Union for presenting these two Teachers of the Year and the two Principals of the Year recognized earlier this year each with a $250 gift card in honor of their achievement.
