Big news from Gator Nation! This past summer, our very own high school was the filming location for a feature film called Charliebird!

Not only was it filmed right here on campus, at Dickinson High School, but many of our amazing students and community members were part of the cast and crew! We’re beyond proud to announce that Charliebird will have its World Premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Festival this June in New York City in the prestigious U.S. Narrative Competition category!

@tribeca, co-founded by Robert De Niro, is one of the most competitive and celebrated festivals in the world—bringing together the best in storytelling each year. To have our Gators represented on this stage is truly something special!

A huge thank you to Libby Ewing @libby_ewing , the film’s director and producer, and Sam Smart @sam_smart, who wrote the film, starred as the lead actor, and also produced—plus she’s a proud League City native! Your vision brought something extraordinary to our campus, and we’re so grateful for the opportunity you gave our students and community.
