Early STEM Learning

The path towards a passion for STEM learning starts early in Dickinson ISD with our Robotics program.  Beginning with the  VEX IQ system in grades 4-6 and moving to more advanced VEX V5  in grades 7-12, the robotics in DISD ensure students experience hands-on, minds-on learning with programmable robotics systems, performance competitions, and embedded work in the scientific research and design process that make it all work.

Learning through Competition

Robotics competitions are the heart of the program with both VEX IQ and V5 systems.  Teams at each campus compete with robotics skills and game play to test their learning, practice problem-solving and collaboration, and engage design processes to beat opponents.  Competitions are both in-district and with other teams in the area.  Competitions are both in-person and virtual, allowing students to hone their skills through play.
