The goal of science instruction in Dickinson ISD is to help students understand how science connects to the world around them. Students will learn by asking questions, investigating real-world problems, and thinking critically about what they observe. Through hands-on learning and collaboration, students use science to make sense of the natural world, solve problems, and make informed decisions.

Year At A Glance

Year at a Glance is a one-page overview of the major learning milestones and instructional pacing for the school year. It highlights unit topics, TEKS alignment, and the timing for instruction so parents can easily see how content progresses across months and grading periods.

Parent Guides

A Parent Guide is a quick, user-friendly overview designed to help families understand what students will be learning throughout the year by grading period. It summarizes key standards, major concepts, and learning goals in parent-friendly language, along with ideas for how caregivers can support learning at home. The guide builds transparency and strengthens school-to-home communication so families feel empowered to partner in their child’s academic success.

At Home Resources

At-Home Resources are tools and materials families can use outside the classroom to reinforce key concepts and skills taught at school. These resources provide simple practice opportunities, hands-on activities, and guidance that align with classroom instruction—helping students stay engaged, build confidence, and continue learning beyond the school day. They support a strong home–school partnership and extend academic growth in meaningful, accessible ways.
