New Student Enrollment Applications for Pre-K and Kindergarten will be open from April 15 to May 3 - Event on May 3 at DISD

Dickinson ISD is excited to meet many new Gator students who will be joining us in 2024-2025 for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. We will be hosting an enrollment event on May 3rd so that families can complete the enrollment process for the 2024-2025 school year. To be eligible for Kindergarten, a student must reside in Dickinson ISD and be 5 years old by September 1, 2024. Pre-Kindergarten students must reside in Dickinson ISD, be 4 years old by September 1, 2024 and meet one of the Pre-Kindergarten qualifications.

 

Attendance Zones

Visit the district's website at www.dickinsonisd.org and click on the Attendance Zones link in the Quicklinks section on the left-hand side of the district homepage to find out which school your child is zoned to attend. You will be able to enter your address to see the list of schools your child will attend at all grade levels. For questions, contact an elementary campus or the district's Public Information Office at 281-229-6080.

 

Enrollment Process

  1. Complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application. New Student Enrollment Applications for Pre-K and Kindergarten will be open from April 15 to May 3. Dickinson ISD will have an open computer lab available for families who need help with the online application process on May 3rd between 8-11:30 am and 12-2 pm at the Dickinson ISD Education Support (2218 FM 517 East, Dickinson, TX 77539). 
  2. Upon completing the online enrollment forms, parents or guardians will need to provide the following required documents in person during the Dickinson ISD Pre-K and Kindergarten event on May 3rd between 8-11:30 am and 12-3 pm at the Dickinson ISD Education Support (2218 FM 517 East, Dickinson, TX 77539). 

 

Things To Bring To Registration

The following documents are needed in order to complete enrollment:

  • Student's birth certificate
  • Student's immunization record
  • Valid parent identification (state ID, Driver’s license, Passport, etc.)
  • Proof of residency - Must provide 1 of the following: a current lease or mortgage statement, an electricity, water, or gas bill in the parent's name.
  • Student's social security card (optional, but needed if you entered the student's SSN on the application)
  • A complete copy of custody papers (all pages), if applicable, for the schools to retain.
  • Pre-Kindergarten students must also provide documentation based on their qualification for PreK*

 

Pre-Kindergarten Qualifications *

    • Economically Disadvantaged (SNAP/ TANF/current paycheck stub)
    • Language (language test will be administered on May 3rd if applicable)
    • Military (Verification of US Dept of Defense, statement of service, etc.)
    • Foster Care (Verification letter from DFPS)
    • Star of Texas Award (Copy of certificate awarded to parent.)

 

After May 3rd, Pre-K and Kindergarten students will be able to complete enrollment at the Centralized Enrollment event August 1 (10 am -6 pm) or August 2 (8 am- 3 pm) at Dickinson High School.
