Physician's Assistants (PA)  are medical professional licensed to practice medicine with supervision of a licensed physician.  A PA is concerned with preventing, maintaining and treating illness and injuries by providing a broad range of health care services that have traditionally been performed by a physician. PAs conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventative healthcare, assist in surgery and write prescriptions. Physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical decision making as determined by their supervising physician. Physician supervision may be in person or in-direct with availability by telecommunications and regular chart reviews. With thousands of hours of medical training, PAs are versatile and collaborative.

PAs practice in every state and in every medical setting and specialty, improving healthcare access and quality. Scroll down to learn more about the PA profession and its commitment to improving and expanding health care.
