Dickinson ISD transitioning to new learning management system Schoology
06/22/2021

Dickinson ISD students and staff will be transitioning to its first ever district learning management system by implementing Schoology starting in the 2021-2022 school year. While the content can be accessed remotely, it is not a substitute for attending school in-person.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dickinson ISD began using Google Classroom to assist with remote learning; however, it became apparent this past school year that the district needed a permanent learning management system to allow the use of more technological resources. Schoology offers a platform for blended learning, organization, collaboration, communication, discussion boards, multimedia lessons, as well as a place to submit assignments and allow for easy teacher feedback and grading.

Schoology has a simplified navigation, and it is also compatible with multiple types of devices and fully integrates with Google Apps for Education. For parents, Schoology will provide an easy platform where they can communicate with teachers and the ability to link all their students with one DISD parent account. This will remove the need for multiple passwords and different locations.
